Basically you are reserving a few days in the upcoming weeks for kiteboard instruction based on the wind forecast. I will contact you the night before to confirm or postpone the following days lesson based on that nights weather forecast.. If scheduled days come and go with out a lesson email me or call me with new dates of availability.  The people with the most flexible dates for lessons and update their availability have the greatest probability of getting a lesson. We kite year round in Maryland. Lessons are more comfortable when water temperatures are in the upper 60degrees. April through November is our typical lesson season. A good wetsuit will totally extend your season. We do kiteboarding camp trips in the off season to keep on kiting. Ask us when our next trip is and where. Spring and fall are best in Maryland. Don't just think of kiteboarding as a summer sport. You are looking for good winds.

• All students must show up at lesson location 15 minutes before the start of the lesson. Becareful of Bay Bridge Traffic

Damage policy: If you damage a kite during a lesson you may be required to pay for the repair of the kite.

You will probably need some gear and we can help with recommendations, just give us a call. We can offer discounts on combined lesson and gear sales and we provide the best personalized, local service & support. We are an authorized Slingshot dealer.

Reserving a Lessons:

A valid credit card deposit is required to hold your scheduled lesson, please call once you have decided on your dates. You may reschedule 48 hours in advance of your scheduled lesson. The remaining amount is due at the time of the lesson.

A $100 deposit is made and your name goes on three days of your choice for kiteboarding lessons. If the conditions are right for you to work on the skills needed for kiteboarding, you will have your lesson. If conditions are not favorable, we will reschedule you for another time. Osprey Kite Sports would like your lesson to be benefical and fun! If your scheduled date come and go with no wind you can request your deposit back or reserve three new dates. You can only lose a deposit by canceling or rescheduling within 48 hours of lesson, or no show for lessons.

Kiteboarding school :

Kitenight is held at 5pm every Thursday night at East of Maui Boardshop Annapolis Maryland. The event is free, but we require pre registration. From 5pm until to close we will discuss kiteboarding theory, where to kiteboard in maryland, gear sizing, pricing, lesson programs, and everything you need to know to start your path to kiteboarding. Trust me, you will learn alot.

Lessons are held everyday there is wind. Please call or stop by the shop to reserve your dates. You will be contacted the night before your lesson to confirm start time and lesson location based on the wind forecast. Majority of lessons leave from Kent Island, Kent Narrows.

Topics covered during the first session: Wind awareness, safety, equipment types, where to kite in the Baltimore/Washington area. Get started on the path to kiteboarding ASAP. By the end of the lesson you will know how to fly a trainer kite, body drag, and be ready to progress to the second stage of the kiteboarder certification. Once you have completed your first couple hours of kiteboarding instruction then you are ready to hit the water with the latest gear. These sessions will focus on getting you up and riding that board with a kite. The quicker you progress the more I will teach you. Of course you will learn how to self rescue, body drag up back to your board, and about local launches. All safety systems are reviewed. We take to the water and try basic kite control, launching, landing, and safety protocol. Once these are learned, the student will use the kite and varying degrees of the power stroke to body drag downwind using both sides of the wind window. Then, we introduce the board. The remainder of the lesson time is spent on board skills with the goal being to get the student up and riding downwind on the kiteboard. This is going to be a fun day. No rush, bring your lunch, we head out, hang out, and kite all day. We hope to have certified you as a level 2 kiteboarder by the end of the 2 day depending on how quickly you progress. Wetsuits and booties are mandatory. Availble for purchase at the Osprey Pro Shop located in East of Maui Boardshop.

BOARDSKILLS 101: Improve your board skills and know how to ride a board even before you fly a kite. Studies prove that previous wakeboard experience greatly increases a students's ability to kiteboard. So, do not sit around on a NO WIND day pouting. Come out with Osprey and improve your boardskills. Osprey has a varity of boards, kiteboards, wakeboards, wakeskates, skim boards,wake surfer, and even water skis.

$85 per 90 minutes

Advanced Instruction: $75 per hour (student nust be able to self rescue and ride down wind) We can instruct you in transitions, toeside, jumping, raleys, rolls, spins and more and more.

6 hours advanced instruction, down-winders, and marine support $300

Private instruction:

Private lessons are available for students who want to learn in a one-on-one setting with your instructor's undivided attention. $150 per hour. Or book me for the entire day for $1000 (8 hours)

Your Kiteboarding lesson will include the following based on location of lesson and conditions. Slingshot kites and boards, Dakine Harnesses, safety equipment, A 21' Carolina skiff kiteboard boat, a professional guide, and USCG Certified boat Captain , and a kiteboarding instructor. Osprey kiteSports Teaches in numerous locations. The kiteboard pro shop is located at East of Maui Boardshop in Annapolis Maryland.

Boat support is a 21 foot Carolina skiff. All equipment is on board. We can find wind in all directions
